Looking for a desk for a 4 y.o.

I know the sort of thing I (well she) is after - pick/lilac girly-style desk and chair for a 4 year old (e.g. Disney princess). I have looked on ELC, Toys R US and Letterbox Websites and am going to John Lewis on Saturday but I don't seem to be able to find anything. I am sure I have seen this sort of desk somewhere (when I wasn't looking for one!).

Any suggestions?

ARgos do a Dora one and a princess one. I got the Thomas one for my 4 yo son for his birthday and he loves it.

they also do matching chalkboards etc.

great, I'll take a look. Does it have a lift-up lid so thinmgs can be kept inside as opposed to just a table?

It's got a pull out tray at the front to keep pen pots in and extra leaning space but doesn't lift up. It has a small shelf and three lift up cubby holes. DS loved it and DD wished she was small enough to have one!

I had a look at the Thomas one the Argos website, it is just the sort of thing I am looking for except I would like a 'girly' one. They don't do a princess one on the website and the Dora one doesn't have lid that lifts up to put things inside. I am sure that I have seen a Disney Princess one somewhere....but no idea where???? Thanks for your suggestion.

I seen a lego table and chairs in a sunday supplement and have ordered it for ds3.
It has a flip lip, one for lego and one for drawing.

Just looked in the Argos book and the Disney Princess one is a vanity table and chair, not a desk, only difference really is that it has a mirror. page 376

I did see the the vanity table and thought she would like that.....likes looking at herself in the mirror! However I am looking for something where she can store all the pens, crayons, paper that I keep finding all over the house.

Managed to persuade DD that a plain (pine) desk would be much better than a themed one, so got a really nice one from John Lewis on Saturday. Thanks for advice. I would recommend JL one if anybody is looking a desk for a 4-7 yo.

Cardy was it horrendously expensive then?

cardy · 22/11/2005 13:14

£64.99, a little more then we expected to pay (Argos £49.99) but it is good quality.

Cardy do you know the name of it? All the ones on the website seem much more expensive than this. Sorry - I am looking for one too!

As far as I recall it didn't have a name, it is being stored at my parents at the moment but next time I go there I'll take a look at the box.
