are they basically all the same? did have a pop-up crib but dd3 is trying to escape from it. so need a big thing i'm afraid. have found the 29.99 ones on kiddicare, any good? was it marslady looking at buying them recently? the paitent accomadation doesnt have cots so need when for when we stay there.

we have a big one from a car boot sale which has been fine, it's used two or three times a week and has high sides..it has mesh sides but a metal frame

zippitippitoes · 14/11/2005 18:08

it looks very like that kiddicare one so I would say that is a bargain, the mattress probably isn't very thick but we didn't find that a problem used a duvet to thicken it up

hornbag · 14/11/2005 20:18

Check out dimensions though -when we bought ours (5 yrs ago) I remember being surprised how small some were (either small in surface area of the mattress or small in the height of the sides). We went for a Mothercare one ( can't remember what its called -Play and Sleep or Sleep/Slumber Fun? Would go and check but its DS's room and hes a light sleeper).

hornbag · 14/11/2005 20:22

and forgot to say its quite handy if they have mesh sides but with the option of roll down fabric sides- that way you have the option of rolling the sides down to block out distractions eg. couple of times when we've shared a room but not wanted DD/DS to see us if they've stirred in the early hours !

ja9 · 14/11/2005 20:22

iirc the kiddicare one is small. if you want a bigger one, i got a hauck one from the Boots website for £34.99 and it was an extra long one. am pleased with it, but apart from the dimensions they are all much of a muchness ime.

LadyTophamHatt · 14/11/2005 20:23

MISDEE!

I've got one in the loft that I was going to put on ebay!!!

ja9 · 14/11/2005 20:23

ah hornbag - clever!

LadyTophamHatt · 14/11/2005 20:25

It's almost identical to the one on kaiddcare, just a different colour.

gingerbear · 14/11/2005 20:27

If you don't want LTH's one Misdee, then you can have mine. It is a Kingswood one from Kiddicare - 3 years old. Dark Grey IIRC.

LadyTophamHatt · 14/11/2005 20:33

Mine's a graco one(navy and red check), but older than GB's one.

I don't mind if you'd prefer GB's.

LadyTophamHatt · 14/11/2005 20:36

I think we've scared her off GB

misdee · 14/11/2005 20:39

i'm not worried. how much and where are you both? if its nearby i may be able to collect.

unofrtunatly i will be lugging it back and forth to the accomadation quite frequently if things carry on this way. i am planning to spend more weekends down there,l and am going to try anf book in for 3 days over xmas.

OP posts:
LadyTophamHatt · 14/11/2005 20:48

that's a good point lockets.

I'll get it out of the loft tomorrow and weigh it as it could be quite a task to carry that, push the buggy, and watch dd1+2.

Also as it's been in the loft I'll give it a once over. I'm not letting any one on MN have it if it's wiffy from being up there, an ebayer yes but MNettter, no

LadyTophamHatt · 14/11/2005 20:50

If you do want it misdee you can have it for the P&P.

gingerbear · 14/11/2005 20:56

I am in Doncaster, but will be coming to London on 26 November.

Alternatively, I can post (approx £10 P& P)

it is similar to this one, but with yellow bits instead of green

misdee · 15/11/2005 18:38

ladytophamhatt are you sure? can you find out how much it will be to post?

OP posts:
LadyTophamHatt · 15/11/2005 19:17

Yep, absolutley sure.

I forgot to get it out of the loft today but I will do tomorrow and find out how much.

Give me a shout out tomorrow afternoon if I haven't posted by then....memory is very poor you see
