which mattress for cotbed?

DS is now 5mths and rapidly growing out of his moses basket, I have a gorgeous cotbed bought from a friend but I need a mattress. He's likely to use it as a bed too, until about 4yrs old, so I know I need more that the most basic foam mattress but I'm overwhlemed by the choices on offer! I'm tempted by a coir mattress with wool surround and bamboo cover, have found one online for just under £100, but have no idea whether it will really be any good. Tempted due to the eco friendly benefits and the natural breathable aspects for ds. But does anyone have any recommendations?

we have a mattress by The Little Green Sheep and it is very good. Don't have anything to compare it to though! We went with them because they seemed very clear on their eco aspect, nontoxicity, and they are produced in England. DS is 9 months and has a cotbed that should last him until perhaps 6 so we figured a good mattress would be well worth it.

Just got an e-mail from them the other day, a newsletter thing, saying that Mother&Baby (the magazine) ran a feature on mattresses recently (might be worth reading?) and that they were mentioned as the best.
I don't work for them, honestly.
