Where can I get a backless bra?

Need it for saturday. Have tried M&S, Debenhams and various other places with no joy. Found a white one in BHS but it's horrible and my dress is black and the straps show a bit so is a no no.

have you thought about those stick on things - lumps of jellyish stuff which you sellotape under your jugs and which apparently do the job. They sell them in the underwear dept of fenwicks on brent x.Haven't tried them as am not good with sellotape.....

Thanks all. Will try your suggestions.

If you can't find a backless bra by then, do what someone I know used to do all the time.

Get an old bra (preferably underwired) and cut the straps and the back off (so just got the cups and a bit of the side bits). Then use toupee tape (a LOT of the stuff) to tape the bra to yourself. Looks ridiculous but works, and no-one else will see! And remember to take the roll of toupee tape with you in case of accidents!....And if you feel it coming undone, go to the ladies QUICK!!!

John Lewis also do a backless bra. Years ago I used to use something called, I think, Brazza (also from JL) which is a pair of shaped sheets of stuff like Micropore, which you stick directly to yourself on and under the boobs. It makes you look like you have no bra on but marvelous naturally firm boobs. They don't come off until you peel them off. I'm allergic to plasters but could wear these things for several hours with no problems.

What are you going to do on Saturday? Something fun?

Going to a party at the House of Commons. Stupidly bought dress with a big hole in the back which looks great apart from the bra prob!

I tried those rigid half cup sticky on things earlier this year and it was a disaster - except to entertain dh and dd 'what ARE you doing mummy?'

Dead obvious under top, one wouldn't stay stuck so ended up without anything as I thought that would be less embarrassing than finding the non-sticking one somewhere around my waist while I was dancing..

I think those stick on things only go up to a C, so are a no-go if you are bigger than that anyway.

boyandgirl · 03/10/2003 15:54

My mum has also used the paper ones and she was a D at the time. But I suppose she might have bought a size C.

WSM · 03/10/2003 16:06

Countess, would something like this bra be any good ?

Perhaps other brands do bigger sizes of those stick on things, but I think the ones I've seen (La Senza?) only go up to a C cup.

Well quick update, my local undies shop sold a little extension thing that turns any bra into a low backed one and it was only £7.99 - bargain.

I got a lot of use out of it as got hideously drunk and woke up at 9am fully dressed (well almost) with shoes still on and vague memories of doing something very naughty with dh in cab on way home... whoops!
