LEAPAD/LEAPFROG - IS THERE A DIFFERENCE?

Thinking of getting for DS1 for Xmas - but bit confused!!! Are they one and the same thing or just different manufacturer?

Want something more educational than just game based - anyone recommend anything please?

I believe the LeapPads are made by LeapFrog....

Sorry, meant to add that my dd has My First LeapPad and loves it. (We take it with us for meals out and it keeps her occupied beautifully .)
