What do you use in the war against moths????

I can't abide the smell of mothballs, not even a whiff. Makes me woozy... Does anyone know of anything else that keep them away?

What is the best way to keep them from eating my favorite clothes? (and why is it always the nice stuff, they never eat the old ratty things).

bump - it's a perennial battle for me too and I always lose! as soon as I have washed everything in the house, I have to start again

what does it look like where the've eaten? Are these the same as carpet beetles?

they don't like cedar - cedarwood hangers/wardrobe (expensive!) or you can getr cedarwood essential oil and put drops in wardrobe/various places. careful if you are pg though, not sure if it's safe.

let it get properly cold overnight. Lavender helps too

Cedarwood does work, you just have to scratch the surface of it every now and then to reactivate the smell.

Cinnamon sticks work too - put a couple in a muslin bag and hang it in the wardrobe. Replace them every three months or so.

thanks to one and all, I will try some of these suggestions to see if it helps.

Our landlord has offered to have professional pest control people come in and "spray" (as I guess other tenants have complained) but we are due to bring home a new born baby in a few days and I don't fancy the idea of just having had our flat sprayed with any kind of pesticide. Blah!

I think Lakeland sells a fairly generous pack of cedar wood paraphenalia for a reasonable price. I've got some cedar essestial oil that I was going to spray in the corners of the closet. Here's hoping!

Thanks again everyone
