A friend has told me that Dyson's after sales/servicing team are very good, but that when i call to get someone to look at it (she reckons it's better to do that cos you get the dyson guarantee which you wouldn't going somewhere local) it will be a week before they come. I think having it fixed will be far cheaper than replacing, but, what to do in the meantime? There will only be so much vacuum borrowing i can do!!!

Has anyone got one of those carpet sweeper things? any good? would it be worth it?

has anyone had similar"issues" with their dyson??

Yeah, Dysons are shite. Mine went once within 9 months of buying it, so they came and fixed it under guarantee. It blew again today (now about 2 years old) but I changed the fuse in the plug and that fixed it until the next time.

My cleaner says to get a Henry, and that is what I shall do.

I've had mine fixed twice in 3 years. The last time there were a number of things that had gone wrong. Luckily enough we bought extra cover at the time so it hasn't cost us.

Have heard Henrys are fab.
