we're currently getting the Indie but I'm so busy at the moment that I only manage to skim through it most days, and dh doesn't read papers at all. I'm wondering whether The Week would be a good alternative?

love it, still read newspapers sometimes as well. i think you can get free issues quite easily - i quite often get two, one to give to a friend. take it on trains, planes, holiday, in the bath. good for those moments you want to read but not a book or woman's mag. not just news, lots of reviews, lifestyle type articles etc

thanks, i've signed up for a trial of 6 free issues.

I used to subscribe, I loved it. I only stopped when I did full scale economy drive when I stopped work. I have also sibscribed for several people as gifts.
I did like the writing style and there was always something interesting to read.

Yes, I love it. I can never guarantee to read the papers each day, so it is great for an international catch up. I especially love all the massively expensive houses in the 2 property pages - a girl can dream. Highly recommended. Most of my friends rely on me renewing their gift subscriptions for their birthdays.

yup, have given up on papers mostly thanks to the week.

I'll save so much money - we're paying £30 a month for my papers. But in all fairness, I did used to read it pretty much cover to cover. Just not anymore.
