Can you recommend a sturdy camera for a two year old?

I'm thinking about buying my daughter a camera for her birthday. She can (with help) use my digital camera but often puts her finger over the lens. So we get pink photos or all the photos taken after look like they are in soft focus!

I was thinking of getting one of those sturdy toddler ones so she can use it more independently (and so I can get to use my camera occasionally!)

Any thoughts would be much appreciated, thanks.

A friend bought her children V-Tech cameras and they didn't last long at all. I would have thought you could pick up an old digital camera for a few quid on ebay and let her break it.

What cruel said.

Ds2 (3) has a second hand cheap but decent camera (£20 on eBay). Much more use than the crappy children's ones and smaller so he can bring it along on day trip. He's taken some lovely pics. And lots of ones of feet.

And IME With kids ones they spend more time playing the games than taking pics.

WE went for a fujifilm one which had a bigger screen than others of similar age/price. He got it for xmas and hasn't broken it yet:)

Thank you Cruel and Sarky (though both sound anything but!) I'm going to think about the proper camera option. I might even buy us a new camera for us and just give in and give her the stick mess that ours has become! Sarky, when you say you got a fujifilm one, was that just a standard camera too?
I looked on Amazon and was really surprised that the toddlers cameras had games on them too, what's the point of that? No wonder kids get distracted if there are a hundred functions on the same thing! Taking pictures is entertainment enough I think?

Yup. The fujifilm one is just a standard digital camera.

Ds2 loves it.
