Help - frozen Kindle

DH's kindle completely frozen up. This has never happened before and we can't do anything with it. It's a 3g one and he's on an internet page. We can't even turn it off! The battery is almost full so it's going to be a few days before it dies of its own accord.

Has this happened to anyone else and what do we do?

Did you try holding the power button on for 15 seconds? That usually reboots it. if not, ring Amazon they are really good about Kindle troubleshooting in my experience.

Push and hold the button thingy for 10secs it re sets it. I had this once on a plane, paniced that I had broken it!

You're a star - thank you. We were clearly being too impatient with it.

And I will now be able to tell him that this site isn't a waste of time :)

Also, does he have one of the Amazon leather cases? (The ones without the built-in reading light.) These were causing a lot of Kindles to crash at one point, and am not sure if they still are. My Kindle-freezing problems stopped instantly I replaced the case!

Thanks so much everyone- the exact same thing just happened to me and I have been panicking!
