Hi
I'm checking out products to cover a very muddy area in DD1s school playground. Head is considering artificial grass but the groundwork required may make it too pricey. I've looked at the matting that grass can grow through (so we'd need to returf/reseed the area as well as lay matting) but that and the bonding rubber chipping stuff also looks prohibitively expensive in a very tight financial year.
We're on very heavy clay so ground horrendously slippy and muddy in wet winter and presumably will turn into a dust bowl in the summer. Area is about 20mSq but an awkward shape with trees & bushes, decking, couple of wooden stepping stones to work around.
Anyone got other solutions? It's an infant school so anything involving a loose surface is a no-no as it'll all just get moved around and posted into bins/down the slide/down other kids backs etc etc.
Thanks
