Camcorder - dvd or hard drive?

Am going to buy a camcorder. Don't want one with a tape in it. Can't decide between a DVD one or a hard drive one. Any opinions?

We have a sony dvd one. Its great. If you've got a re-writer on your computer you can save them onto dvds or if not just play them on your dvd player.

ive got a soyn dvd one too - much easier just to play dvds or put them straight in the pc.
