Rowing Machines..any good?

Yes I think they are supposed to be good as a way of getting aerobic exercise - if you do it long enough, with enough resistance. I'd imagine they're as effective as a stationary bicycle.

That's what our exercise stuff gets used for anyway

Many years of rowing give me a knee jerk nauseous reaction to ergos . They are extremely good for fat burning and cardio vascular, which becomes obvious within seconds when you use one, as the lactic acid rapidly builds up .

If you do get one, try to find a rower to show you how to use it. I see so many people in gyms thrashing around with no proper instruction, and you have to be a bit careful of your back and your heart with these things.
