When do you think is the optimum day & time for an item to end? I've been looking at a couple of things & it's strange that the same thing can go for quite different sums & have a varying number of bids, even though it's brand new & exactly the same as another item.
Just wondered if any of the sellers on these boards pick specific days or times to end their items. I've a score of about 8 so I'm no expert but I was hoping for tips of when to look out for things that are less likely to get loads of bids & bag a bargain.

Not sure but if someone is watching it they are more likly to be on during evening than midnight maybe?!

I find it's usually best on a Sunday evening between 6 and 9pm!

Selling wise if I'm selling children's clothes then about 9pm is about best when the little darlings are asleep. Sunday is always the busiest time, although if you are looking at selling stuff to the States then you are best starting a 10 day listing at about 10pm on a Thursday to get 2 Sundays and the various time zones!

So for buying..... look for stuff away from those times and use auction sniper if you can't face staying up all night!

for selling i tend to find things that end either sunday 6-10pm or tuesday 8pm-10pm tend to sell better than any other nights. Dont know why but just way it works. However when buying obviously look for bargains so have aquick nose during the day or late at night..lol

I list all my items on a Thursday evening for 10 days. That way they all end on a Sunday and you have 2 weekends of "watchers".
Used to do it Sunday-Sunday but found this is better.

Thanks all just got a smashing bargain - well I think so, everyone must've been sitting down to their Sunday dinners.
All the other sellers stuff's had at least 1/2 a dozen bids & there was only one other bidder & me. The other bidder's bought loads of stuff from this seller so I thought she'd have a higher maximum but she's maybe got complacent. Woohoo my score may get into double figures yet.
