Vests for me: anyone know where to get long ones?!

OK, annual autumn/winter problem: I like wearing a vest under a shirt or t shirt but it needs to be reasonably nice, ie cotton and thin straps, not lacy damart type. But the only ones I have got are much too short: they dont tuck into jeans, esp hipsters, and its draughty! I havent looked this year but last year tried all the usuals: M& S etc with no luck. Does anyone have any suggestions?

soyabean try Hanro (can buy in Selfridges, Harvey Nicks, Fenwicks etc and prob lots of other places) They do lovely stuff in cotton and silk (knitted not shiny) and it's all pretty long. Dh buys it for me most years and it lasts forever and is gorgeous.

Their website is www.hanro.com but is v annoying as has too much flash in it.

Thanks Countessdracula: I see what you mean about the fancy website but will go and check out some shops. They do look quite short tho...?

Nicole Kidman wore a Hanro vest in Eyes Wide Shut.

Countessdracula I wasnt doubting you, just the ones I saw on the site were short! I will definitely have a look for them (and I will look like N Kidman before you know it)

Countessdracula
Just to say thanks again, I finally got to selfridges to purchase a hanro vest and am very happy, and warm. I'm sure I will be going back for more. Great suggestion, thank you!
(Now what I want is bluey grey or olive green tights, maybe I'll have to start another thread!)

BTW you may want to try Patra as well: silk and silk/cotton. And cheap.

Thanks MI and Suedonim. The silk sounds nice but iwas after spaghetti straps and thats what the hanro one I got has, so I am happy. Expensive (same as Patra ones: £24) but as Countess D assures me they last for ages I am justifying it to myself as a wise investment (haha)and may even have to purchase another..
Suedonim, you are the master of finding website links! You did the same on my woolly tights thread: thanks!

Hehe, Soyabean! It just so happened a Patra catalogue came in a magazine I bought last week, hence I recognised the name. But Mumsnet is brill for seeking out this sort of thing - someone's bound to know, however obscure the enquiry!
