Hi all,
We've been asked by Angels and Urchins magazine to suggest the most iconic parenting items - things that have arrived on the scene during the last ten years that are truly fabulous or you can't now imagine parenting without. So, great design, practicality, beauty.

Your thoughts would be most helpful.

" things that have arrived on the scene during the last ten years that are truly fabulous or you can't now imagine parenting without"

er.... has anyone said Mumsnet yet? Confused

NonnoMum · 21/04/2011 22:58

Agree - Mumsnet.

Phil and Teds.
Buggy boards.
shaped washable nappies.
micro scooters - the ones with double wheels at the front - gets two year olds out of their prams...
Baby sleeping bags.
dribble bids (the ones that make babies look like cowboys...)
decent car seats
three wheel buggies (Mountain Buggy/Zapps etc)

suwoo · 21/04/2011 22:59

Definitely bugaboo. Someone touched on it earlier, but the shade-a-babe sunshade for buggies. I had antilop and grobag for dd who is 9. I wholeheartedly vote for Grobag.

Yes to grobags, shaped cloth nappies (and fab nappy wraps that are not like a plastic shower cap) and Micro Mini scooters.

Also yoghurt in a tube and Trunkis

AitchTwoOh · 21/04/2011 23:41

HAHAHAHAHA oh yes durrrrrrr... MN.

SpeedyGonzalez · 21/04/2011 23:45

Technically, though, MN is over 10 years old, innit? Wink

SpeedyGonzalez · 21/04/2011 23:47

Definitely balance bikes. Pure genius. Anyone seen that episode of Frasier where he and Niles try to ride bikes?!

scottishmummy · 21/04/2011 23:47

SueSylvesterforPM · 21/04/2011 23:50

Baby Tv lol

no entrances a baby like badly dubbed repeats of relentlessly cheerful characters, he's a bit older now.

reins - well they disapeared for a bit then came back.

AitchTwoOh · 21/04/2011 23:56

"brown nosing and bitty crawley bum lick"

piss oooooooooooffffffff. this is for a magazine, it's not for MN... and while it is just over the 10 year mark in age it can certainly be said to have 'arrived on the scene' in the last decade.

TiffanyToothache · 22/04/2011 00:18

Agree with a few here:

Buggy Boards
Bumbo
Silicone roll up bibs (tommee tippee)

sleeping bags
MN - natch
bandana bibs

SolosEggSpoonentiallyShrinking · 22/04/2011 00:27

Not that I have ever had or used one, but the travel systems; car seat onto pram base. Genius!

hubbard86 · 22/04/2011 00:41

Calpol satchets
All of which i have used with ds 2.5 and dd 8 weeks and we probably couldn't live a normal life without. Well it would be very boring

Bumbo
Lamaze toys
Travel systems

Leapoffaith · 22/04/2011 07:10

Yup, brown nosing or not, mumsnet has definitely changed my experience of parenting!

And I know it isn't parenting-specific, but iPhone or similar... Genuinely think it helped during those dark early days of what felt like constant night feeding to be able to read/watch the news/email/Facebook/google 'baby sleep'/watch YouTube videos on latching on.... etc etc
