I have had an aga for 16 years and haven't bakes a cake in it yet !

best mate has had one for 3 yrs and bakes daily ( says with lots of short-cuts )

BUT - I am now embarrassed and feel that I really "could do better".

SO I need help ....

crystaltips, look for Amy wilcock books on amazon, she does a tiny one full of top tips.

The more you use it the easier if gets. Even Amy says you can stick most things in for 20 mins and they're done!

Each time you are cooking and around the aga, just wipe it over with cloth, e-cloths available in supermarkets are brilliant, and as you wipe follow up with a teatowel shine!

There is also an aga website which has some good recipes on, and also little video clips of how to make things.
