Next Directory - Problems???

Skyler · 02/11/2005 19:14

Has anyone else had any problems with their Next Directory orders? I have placed three orders so far and had stuff fail to arrive and account problems with every one. Do you think this is because I am a BFPO customer? Is the service better if you are in the UK? We are moving back next year so I hope this is the case. I won't be ordering again whilst I am still overseas.
TIA

yes! i had horrendous trouble and had to threaten them with police action!
they are AWFUL

Oh dear .
TBH in the UK I will be able to actually go shopping without paying through the nose so hopefully won't need them. Hope you got it sorted.

yeah eventually... they apologised and sent me a load of vouchers!
I have been in the store since and ordered things and the woman said tht they have had a lot of probs with the website and directory orders!

mogwai · 02/11/2005 19:41

I tried to order loads of directory stuff last night by phone. It was ALL out of stock. Total waste of my time going through the directory, writing it all down and phoning them up

starlover · 02/11/2005 19:42

yeah and they bloody charge you £3.50 for the catalogue!

I ordered online and they then sent me a catalogue and charged me for it! i never even asked for the bloody thing

Skyler · 02/11/2005 20:21

Yes that reminds me that I also should have not been charged the postage this time round or something as I ordered by a deadline, instead of getting the catalogue for free. I am beginning to really regret ever starting with them. . Spent more money on the phone trying to sort the problems out than I have saved ordering from the UK.

Yes I've had various problems with them too. I'm getting to the point where I'm just not going to order from them again.

Skyler · 02/11/2005 20:25

I think that is the way forward Gobblediguy. I was hoping I had just been unlucky but it appears not.

I've never had a parcel from them that didn't contain something wrong, usually just wrong sizes but a couple of completely random things instead of the things I'd ordered. Curtains instead of a duvet cover, girl's age 10 dress instead of toddler boys trousers being the best two. And the charge for the catalogue is a real cheek imo.

Gobblediguy · 02/11/2005 20:30

I've had that too MrsFlowerpot. And this week i got a letter saying I'd apparently contacted them to tell them I hadn't received a parcel and could I sign this form to confirm I hadn't received it. I'd never ordered the items on it - some bedding or something!

They are utter crap and the clothes are rapidly going downhill too - so cheap and nasty. The thing is, they are very handy for kids jeans and the school shirts are nice too.

Gobblediguy · 02/11/2005 20:32

I mean the women's clothes are going downhill. I remember years ago when Next was quite 'up market' - now it's a bit 'high street' and some of the women's stuff is really quite tacky. YOu can get the odd thing I think but I'm finding less and less that I like in there.

Hmm, maybe it's just cos I'm getting older?!

Skyler · 02/11/2005 20:38

I had a letter saying that the parcel I had reported lost had been found containing some beige twill trousers. This was the only parcel that got here on time and was returned without any problems (as dh has huge thighs according to Next and he couldn't pull the trousers on lol.)
I also had some stuff not arrive and rang them asking them to chase it and they resent it (which I didn't request) and tried to charge me for the items being resent wtf!! This is not to mention the stuff that has never arrived and their stock lists seeming to be totally wrong. Agree about the quality of ladies too. The vest tops I ordered were really crap, ok only £4.50 and you get what you pay for so I sent them back. Ho hum.

i had same prob.
ordered something.. never arrived. told them and they said it hadn't been sent out!

then they charged me for it... and the catalogue i didn't ask for
got them to remove the charges and then got a bill for the catalogue plus a "service charge"

this went on for about 5 months until i sent them a horrible letter. The front page was written in size 38 red font and said "LEAVE ME THE F$%K ALONE"

I know this is a zombie thread but seriously, this year their deliveries have been shit. Items not arriving. The CS having no idea where parcels are. I am currently on day 2 of no parcel arriving. Have phoned and use their online chat. Totally unhelpful. It says courier received the parcel and it should have been delivered but it still not here. So im still waiting. I think next have stretched themselves too far with using brands. They seem incapable of delivering them. Really annoyed.

I also think hermes are the total pits.
