Can anybody reccomend a decent digital camera. I feel so old fashioned with my old 35mm films.
I am prepared to spend between £200 and £300
If there's a best place to buy them from too, that would be a great help.
thanks

Sony Cybershot - there are few, some better than others and with your budget you'd be able to get a decent one. Ours is fab - middle of the range and it cost around £200 with all the extras I think - bigger memory stick, carry case etc.

We researched before buying and this came out as one of the best.

i have a canon powershot a85, which is brilliant, but it is only 4 megapixels and only cost me £150. i would definitely recommend canon as a brand. i bought mine in argos (cheapest) after a lot of comparing in other shops and on websites.

I would thoroughly recommend the Casio Exilim Z750 . It's a superb camera and I think you can get it from Currys/Comet online for about £260 although in the shops it's around £300.

Fantasticly large display, 7.2 mega pixel, great video function etc etc.

Wow, that Casio looks impressive. I have had a look at some of the Sony ones as we have a Sony shop nearby. By the way, what in the way of assessories are usually required. Will i be hit with a load of extras/add-ons?

I've got the Fuji Finepix 550 - seems pretty good though I haven't done much with it yet - 6MP and 4x optical zoom - smaller screen than that Canon one. OTOH only £149 at amazon with some v enthusiastic reviews.

There was a review in the Sunday Times, here that was very interesting.

Bran, thanks for the link. That is indeed very interesting and informative. If I can't find something now, there is no excuse is there?
