Anyone got a Wilkinet and tape measure handy?

I had a Wilkinet for DD, LOVED it, sold it for £10 2 weeks before I found out I was pregnant, after holding onto it for 4 years cos I wanted another baby. Go figure.

Anyway, just brought another one on UKParents, lady said it had the extra long straps (for us bigger ladies).

Just tried it out, can't do the bloody straps up, ok so I'm nearly 37 weeks pregnant so I guess it will fit fine once the baby is here...but to be honest I don't think that it has the extra long straps at all.

So anyone got one out there and can measure the strap from say the point it joins the main carrier right to the end? Then I can tell if it does have the extra long straps already or if I should send it to the company to have them put on? Or am i just a 37 week pregnant hefalump?

Hope this makes sense!

Mine is about 235cm from the end of the strap to the edge of the back support bit.

Thanks Oakmaiden...mine is about 210, is yours with the extended straps then?

And should I tell the lady that sold it to me that it isn't the extra long model, that was the only reason I brought it from her and not someone else.

Arrrgghhh, just rang Wilkinet, described the straps, they are NOT the extra long ones. This is what the original ad said:

"Very good condition, hardly used. DP doesn't like front carriers

I think it is a large one - ie extra long straps that you tie round you. I hope this makes sense!

£17 incl postage.

Would love Nochex put can accept paypal or cheques.

Thanks for looking.

lucie."

Wouldn't that lead you to believe that this was not the standard size but the extra long size???

I'm pissed now, got to send it to the company and pay £5 to have the straps extended

how annoying Pie i would have assumed it was extra long too.
& isn't it just typical that you got rid of your old one. I do that all the time. send something to charity then wish I had it a few months later

I'd contact the seller and tell her it's not the extra large one.

Oakmaiden · 22/09/2003 19:00

Dunno if mine has the extended straps or not - I got it on ebay, and the seller didn't say that it was. But they do seem to be a bit longer than yours - unless we are measuring to different places....

I'm sending it to Wilkinet to have the straps extended, it costs £5, so even with that it works out cheaper (alot) than buying it new, its just that she said they were already the extra large ones. Its just such a hassle!

I wrote to her, but don't expect to hear back. Oh well buyer beware and all that.
