Connect 4
There's a game called Crazy Labyrinth (sp?) that friends' kids love, it's not particularly quick though.

zippitippitoes · 30/10/2005 13:08

Rush Hour Here..there is also one called River Crossing by the same company

roisin · 30/10/2005 13:25

Still competitive Cod?

Ds2 likes Mastermind , which is quite quick.

Also Connect 4, Battleships, Rush Hour

Cranium Cadoo is good. But for quick I'd go for something like Top Trumps that you can pick up and put down.

We've got that Lego game Cod, it's good isn't it?

The thing I like about it is I insist the boys set it up themselves - takes about 20 minutes, then I play (if they insist!) but the game only takes about 5 mins

But don't whatever you do buy a copy of the "Lego racers" game, assuming it's similar. It's not - it's rubbish, and very very boring (even for the kids )

My kids love junior monopoly, 4 and 7 its the only game they have played over and over again.

roisin · 30/10/2005 17:09

is blokus similar to blockade

DS2 has been playing it for nearly a year - i.e. since he was 5.5 and enjoying it.

Bee Lines is good- mental arithmetic, bit of chance and strategy to get across the board/block your opponent and so on. Ds got it when he was 6 and we still play it.
