Since we have decided to meet without our children our Mums and Toddlers (minus the toddlers) has improved immeasurably.

I need to buy a secret santa for our Xmas meal. Trouble is it could be for any of these women:

23 year old - sells jewellery, always wearing new clothes recently had 2nd child.
35 - lawyer
30 - pg with number 2
40 something - 3 kids and works all the time

Oh and did I mention the budget is $10NZ which is around 3 pounds 50p.

what about couple of green and blacks choc bars with a nice mgazine? I've done that for a few secret santas and has gone down well!

I like the magazine idea - I think any edible present would be poorly received by the pg and recently pg ladies. I could possibly get a book at a remaindered book store for this, I'm not sure number 1 reads but the other 3 all do. The first lady is also the most likely to have read all the magazines on the newstand.

what's a remaindered book store?

bobbybob · 28/10/2005 08:45

Where they sell all the books that didn't make it to Waterstones etc.

I saw this fab little doll called "The Perfect Man" in Boots. You squeeze him and he has a whole list of phrases like "Why don't I just stop here and ask for directions. I think we may be lost", "Here, you have the remote control, when I'm with you, I don't care what we watch" and so on.

It was £5 but then again just noticed you're in NZ, so probably no Boots there?

No, but I could get my mum to bring me one!

I've just found him on Trade Me for $15 - is he called Mr Wonderful?

Over budget but perfect for raising a giggle at the table. Thanks.

That must be him - has he got wide blue eyes?

I keep siddling up to him in Boots and giving him a little squeeze....

Couldn't find Mr Wonderful that will be available in time (sound familiar?). Found a nice bracelet on sale that if they don't like they can give to their daughters (I know the one with no daughter will love it).

And I'll throw in a big bar of chocolate as well.
