Ditching the travel system :)......now what

DS2 is now 8 months and I am still using the old travel system that I got for ds1 over 3 years ago.

I want a light weight buggy that is light and folds up nicely in the car. Also want it to be comfortable as ds2 is still small......needs to lie back relatively flat too.
because I work, I won't be using it on a daily basis......but will get used at weekends. SOmetimes out on walks on gravelly paths etc

any suggestions appreiciated

Maclaren Techno? Has bigger wheels than the other Maclarens, so would cope better with the gravel. Very lightweight, folds up tiny, reclines almost flat, etc. Kiddicare to them for a good price.

Found my maclaren to be v good. Not using it at the mo as i am having to use a double but i took on hols to spain with us and it was great.

maclaren ryder. i got one today (am selling my p and t and zapp so got this one 1st) its lies relatively flat, and mothercare are selling it with a footmuff as well. its got quite rugged wheels. i looked at the techno and i was going to get that, but it wouldnt fit in my car even with the handles right down.

misdee · 26/10/2005 23:49

here

i pretty much need it for the same reasons as you, and are babies are roughly the same age.

I'd second the techno dd was in here up to six months ago and still slept in regular.

The one misdee's got looks good and the added footmuff is a bonus.

Another vote for the Maclaren XT

misdee · 27/10/2005 09:06

i'm not sure if the ryder lies as flat as the techno XT, but its flat enough for serena to sleep in.

Serenade · 27/10/2005 09:11

we had the techno & graco citisport
found the techno excellent for sleeping lays back quite flatish

bubbaloo · 27/10/2005 10:04

We ditched out Graco travel system a couple of weeks ago and got the Maclaren Ryder. It's lightweight, easy to push and looks fab in the chocolate colour and furry cosytoes.

Really miss the shopping basket on the Graco though.

i keep looking at the ryder,e specially the kiddicare option as much cheaper, but ds2 is too big for a buggy now and i brought the new m&p ziko which he really doesn't need. will have to wait for number 3 to be big enough for a buggy instead of a pram, although they will probably have something else by then!
