iPOd Shuffle - anyone know how to get rid of tracks on it?

DD has downloaded al his favourite stuff on to one - he now has a proper iPod and I am to become the happy(!) recipient of said Shuffle...BUT how do I get rid of all the stuff he's put on it?

HELP!

you want to use the itunes software. you can simply delete and add new music with it like that.

Can you selectively delete stuff? It seems taht everything from his library of dubious music is on the iPod - which he wants on his new iPod but not on the Shuffle.
(I have no idea what I'm talking about - can you tell?!!)
