My dd's 4.5 and we still use it ... and my clothes are perfectly clean!

I knew someone would say that! Bah, I must just be naturally scummy!!!

How long is it recommended for though?

Sorry!

I don't know, to be honest - as long as you feel like, I suppose.

how old are your children/child? have they any history of sensitive skin? eczema? I've just started using non bio again and my dd2 is 2.6 and the muckiest creature around so I know aht you mean about 'not quite clean'!!

Seems I am jumping the gun a bit. Ds will be one next week (bless) and has had some eczema, although it has been fine for a while.

I'll keep going for a while yet then. Perhaps Wiggy could do my washing for me?!

Try it, remember which of his clothes were in the wash, and see what happens?

I use non-bio on the nappies and bio on everything else, have done since ds was about 1 month. He is fine. He doesn't have eczema though (although we have a family history of every non-food allergy you can think of, plus a few food ones).

My old charge had his colours washed in persil colour (bio) from about 4 months... he was fine!

beanspout - how are you??
I still use non bio - I also put napisan (which is non bio) in each wash and seems to get the orange stains out of most things. even managed to get curry out of my white top (well with 2 washes!)
