How hard is it for non car people to change a car battery?

Mine is conked out (broken, not just flat). It's definitely the battery, it's in such a bad way it can't even be jump started to get it to a garage. (Information validated by professional car person)

Found a website that delivers car batteries to your door, price is about £55 compared to £85 from Halfords.

Do people fit their own car batteries? Could me and DP(non driver but good at DIY) between us manage to do it without bad things happening? Grateful for anyone's experiences!

PLEASE don't say "don't you know someone who can do it for you". No, we don't know any car fiddlers within a 300 mile radius. Been asked that about 20 times in the last two weeks Wink while the poor car sat there unable to move.

its seriously one of the easiest things to do on a car. You'll just need a couple of spanners for the terminals and for the clamp that holds the battery down.

If you are still a bit worried about doing it get a Haynes Manual and it will take you through step by step.

Dh did mine, no trouble. The awkward bit was getting the radio code which was needed after the battery was disconnected!
