Homebargains Half Size Guitar?

DS2 will be starting lessons soon and needs a half-size guitar. I don't want to spend lots of money in case he doesn't take to it, but neither do I want to buy him a load of rubbish.

Home Bargains is selling a half size guitar for £6 or something like that. Has anyone got one, and if so, are they any use?

bought them for my grandchildren. They were no good as the strings didn't hold the notes no matter how many times they were tuned.

I thought they might be rubbish. Think I'll treat him and get a decent one. It'll be worth it when he's the next The Edge and can afford to keep his mother in style!
