Ok so my Dh has a focus at the minute but needs a newer car as this has pretty much been run to ground.

He does around 300 miles a week to/from work and spends around 200-250 a month on petrol.
We have a had a look around and were thinking about a vectra 1.9 diesel 57/58 plate if we can afford.

Does anyone have any opinions on this car or what other cars would be great??
Any opinions welcome??

Hello! We bought an 07 plate, vauxhall vectra estate car last year when we found out we were preg!
It is fab!
Diesel - so a bit pricier to fill (about £59) But i think it works out well, very economical, especially for not just nipping in and around town. Not sure how many miles we get to the tank - must set milometer thingy to zero and check this! The boot space is fantastic - plenty room for all things baby! - and a dog too if you have one. It is lovely to drive too! I had a corsa before this, and did find it huge, especially to park! We got parking sensors fitted, and now, i just love it!
Hope this helps!

DP had a vectra when we first got together was brill,
Huge boot, great on the motorways but not to great round town, as they get older they are very prone to faults though.

We had a vectra and I loved it!

We've got a passat now and it's shite.

I've got an 08 and hated it at first ( got rid of my beloved Focus for it) but it's grown on me. Boot space is massive, really massive. Mine is a 1.8 petrol, costs about £65 to fill up at the moment. I drive it into London evey day and it's a nice smooth drive. Really like driving it now.
