We're a bit behind the times and have just got digital freeview!! I have been fasinated by the shopping channels, Bid tv and the other one (price drop?). Has anyone bought anything? What's the quality like and are there bargains to be had?

stay far far away from all shopping channels.

you have been warned

daisy1999 · 18/10/2005 16:53

oh the government should step in and ban tv and the internet, it was bad enough when you had to go out to spend money, now you can do it at home with a cup of tea and a biscuit

Bought a gorgeous handbag from price drop for £30, found it all over t'internet for £80. Bought a dinner set tho' & it's rubbish, really brittle.
Might just be your luck.

Have bought cutley, duvet sets, remote control cars, jewellery and just about everything else from bid up/price drop. It's very addictive, but so are the other channels too...which I also buy from.

ScarySkribble · 18/10/2005 20:23

I would check prices on the net and in argos first sometimes the bargains are not bargains really. Personally I wouln't buy bed covers etc because you can't feel the quality.

MIL got us some lovely curtains from bid tv, lined and everything for £23 inc p+p!

flutterbee · 18/10/2005 20:27

Just remembered bough a pair of lined curtains from them too and they are the best curtains I have. Got bored and don't watch anymore though.

daisy1999 · 20/10/2005 21:02

flutterbee - saw the curtains. You couldn't even get linings at that price.

My neighbour uses bid TV, to the eternal chagrin of her long suffering dh.
'Tis how I got to know her, when I was on maternity leave my hallway quickly became clogged up with all my neighbours purchases, untill she came to pick them up in the evening (or rather her dh). Her dh once told me to tell the delivery guy they had moved!!! I was also on first name terms with the delivery bloke too, lovely chap by the name of Richard (yes it was the same man every single day).

As to the question, the quality of the items seems fine, and my neighbour is completely and utterly addicted.
