Which smart phone?

Android or iphone?

I've decided I need to join this century and get a smart phone Smile

I had an iphone at the end of my old job a couple of years back for about 3 weeks and loved it, but I'm wondering if Android phones might be worth a look.

What have you got? Do you rate it?

TIA [smile[

I've got an Iphone and absolutely love it, I've had one for the last four years and don't think I could be without it now! If you've got any specific queries about the Iphone let me know, I'd be happy to help!

I asked some RL friends too. Iphone is winning - including your vote it's 5-3 to the iphone.

A couple of my friends are really keen on the HTC desire though.

I've got an iphone and am not that impressed really. the dc (6 & 3) love it for the games and are both happy playing on it and can whizz their way around the phone quite happily.

There are a handful of games that I've found fun when needing to pass time but think they are ones that you'd also find on an android phone.

There are some things that should be useful that are almost useful but that just miss - so I can make lists, calendar entries etc but bit of a fiddle to put in but I can just think of so many ways that little things could have been changed to make it easier.

Worst of all though is that the phone isn't that great as a phone and the camera isn't that great - there's a long lag, quality is pretty variable especially if you have zoomed at all.

So if those sort of things are important to you then definitely worth looking at others. I'd planned on getting an HTC Desire but they were out of stock so went for the iphone instead, as I needed a phone after old one broke. Next time i need a phone i'll definitely be looking at others and won't just replace the iphone automatically.

If you do decide to get an iphone it's worth checking out the www.moneysavingexpert.com website as they have a page where they will tell you where all the best deals are for the iphone looking at it over the term of the contract - I got mine at tesco and am paying significantly less than some other friends who just wandered into apple shop/carphone warehouse etc. And they show all the different options so you decide if you need unlimited phone minutes or a gazilllion texts a month or if you are happy with just 250 mins a month and 5000 txts then what's the point of paying lots more. Also shows how some places give you a 'free' iphone when you sign up for an expensive contract but when you look at the price at the end of the contract you end up spending hundreds more than forking out a bit for the phone to start with IYSWIM.
