travel grobag

I have seen a "travel Grobag" on the internet, it seems handy. Is there anyone who can explain how it works and if it is as handy as it seems. I hope this is exactly what I need because my children hate it when I wake them up to go home.

It is just a normal Grobag but with a slit in the bottom through which you can poke your carseat belt. So if your kids fall asleep in the car, you can take them out and carry them up to bed without having to put them into a Grobag (if you are very lucky).

Hi Mayo - we've got a travel grobagand it's been really useful. The front zip has two zippers so you can have an opening in the middle to allow the car sea buckle through. There is a zip at the back too, which lets the buckle through from the back. We do ds' normal bedtime routine either at home (or in many a service station!) and then pop him in the car seat. he ineviatably wakes up at the other end of the journey, but can be cuddled for a bit and plonked in his travel cot. He also seems to make the connection between sleeping bag and bedtime, cos he sleeps in one at home. hth

WE have one too. Th new Grobag website is now called Bumps to 3 and you can get it there. We use ours a lot in the car, especially when it was colder. Will be getting it out again now as DD still fits into it from last year. It comes in 3 sizes, 0-6months, 6-18 months and 18-36 months. Can't remember price but similar to normal Grobags I think. Can use it in a pushchair too so good for using if out walking in evening - we do occassionally.

Can I use a Grobag Travel sleepingbag as a normal sleepingbag? Does a child feel the zipper on the back while he sleeps in his bed?

Yes you can Mayo. DD often does if we have been out and she has had it on in the car. Also, we use it as a spare for when her normal one is in the wash. The back zipper is covered over with material anyway.

I have a 6-18 month (older baby size) travel bag - transport print - that DD has just grown out of if any one wants it. If you just pay postage for me and it's all yours. No idea on postage cost but post office is oppoite me so can find out l;ater today. The bag does look very new tbh.

Just got my bumpto3 catalogue and they finally make travel grobags in 1 tog. Bit late for my summer holiday, but good if you want to have the heating whacked up to the max in the car over winter.

I'm another fan of the travel grobag, particularly useful when going on a longish car journey. DS transfers very well in it from the carseat to his cot, and it's so much easier than getting him ready for bed once we arrive home / whereever. Interesting to hear they now do a 1 tog - could have done with that these last few months. We also use the travel grobag as a general spare - the zips are well covered.

We have a travel grobag too and it is fab - wouldn't be without it. We have trouble getting babysitters (very rural area) so when we go to visit anyone we take the kids, put them to bed there then transfer them into the car and home. Sometimes ds (20 months) doesnt even wake up! Unfortunately they dont do them in the 3-6yrs size so dd just has her blanket. Ds only has the one grobag (we're too mean to buy 2, even with 10% off) and he sleeps in the cot with it all the time and the zip doesnt seem to bother him in the slightest!

Does anyone want my free travel Grobag? Otherwise I will have to go hunting again for children to pass it on to - starting to get hard as most of the kiddies we know are older than DD.

I have weighed the travel bag on my scales and used the royal mail website. Without a jiffy bag it weighs 360g so I allowed a little more for an envelope. By Airmail is comes out at about £4 (in about 5 working days) and by Surface Mail = £1.60 (but that takes up to 8 weeks!).
