Have been to clarks today to get some nice winter boots, last year we had Clarks' Gortex ones, expensive but very nice. Trouble is they only come in F fitting. Last year we went up a size and got away with it. This year they just dont fit and we have left the shop empty handed as I want to get some boots that are warm, waterproof and have good non-slip soles. Was going to John Lewis but ran out of time, any suggestions appreciated. Now Im going to start another thread on my rant about being measured...

If you have a broughtons shoe warhouse nearby they usually have a G fitting

Sadly not, havent even heard of them in fact. Thanks anyway. Does Instep to all their boots in a G fitting I wonder, must get on the web and have a search. Off to the harvest festival now though.xxx

Have you tried start rite?

In the end got Startrite boots in John Lewis, although in an F fitting, they dont do G's but they do fit ok. I guess different brands F and G fittings must differ. She was also a size 9 there but in a Clarks shoe she needs 91/2.
