If you didn't know (because I didn't until Soapbox told me!), TKMaxx have lots of Playmobil toys in at reduced prices.

I just got the pirate ship for £30 (rrp £60) and the police station for £30 (rrp £50).

They've got some of the big space ship type things for £30 down from £100

And Soapbox is right, people are selling the pirate ship on ebay for over £30 and then postage on top!!!

Does every TK Maxx have a toy section - we have one nearish, but I haven'y been in it before.

Gobbledispook · 17/10/2005 10:56

Puff, I've not been to ours for AGES so I wasn't sure but yes, it had some toys downstairs and then a big toy section upstairs. It's all a bit higgledy piggledy and the playmobil is dotted about so make sure you look through all the toys.

They had other stuff like a police truck, a pirate fort type thing, some dragon thing, the space stuff (massively reduced - looked fab but maybe for older ones)...really worth a look.

puff · 17/10/2005 10:57

okeydoke, I will go have a mooch .

soapbox · 17/10/2005 11:01

Glad you got it GDG!

DS's Nana bought the big space set for his Christmas which he will be thrilled with!

I bought a few of the smaller sets for bithday presents for DS's friends. At #7.99 each its hard to go wrong really!

puff · 17/10/2005 11:02

I'm off now, to elbow other mumsnetters out of the way no doubt !

Gobbledispook · 17/10/2005 11:04

I know - I usually spend about £7-8 on presents for parties if I can so this was ideal -wish I'd got more actually, only got 2.

I've just had a bit of a problem finding somewhere to hide the pirate ship and police station!

Oh ds2 would love the pirate ship. We haven't got one near us (well, not near enough for me to get to as I don't drive - OK, cod, won't drive!) We're going to Wales for half term and there's one near the PILs - wonder if there'll be any left.

And proving once again that our town (Woking) has rubbish shopping, I went into TK Maxx at lunchtime and they don't have a single piece of Playmobil in stock!

Nbg · 17/10/2005 16:57

The Thomas the Tank Engine stuff is cheaper too. If anyones interested.

Only thing is it seems to be selling pretty quickly.

Can't find the space stuff on the Playmobil website. Can anyone tell me where I can see it on-line?

LIZS · 17/10/2005 20:21

The Playmobil stuff I saw in TK Maxx the other week was mainly old stock. The Space range, fro example, was discontinued in Europe 2-3 years ago.

Katemum · 17/10/2005 20:22

Thanks.

LIZS · 17/10/2005 20:29

You can get this on their direct service though for £40, perhaps it is the same one ? or try ebay.

ScarySkribble · 18/10/2005 00:21

They had that one too, but the one with RRP £100 is massive box is about 80cm square. TKmax in East Kilbride had at least 4 of the large space ship, plus smaller models today (Mon).

Plus wooden castle (1 left). Wooden House (1 left) Educational CD's including DK, books, ceramic money boxes (gift area) and loads of binoculars, weather station clocks etc. if you have older kids (in mens gift area). Oh and Calvins for your DH or DP if you like that sort of thing .

This is it Space station that is.

ScarySkribble · 18/10/2005 00:24

New ones on Ebay too if you don't have a TKmax.

TwoIfBySea · 18/10/2005 20:40

Excellent, just bought a whole bunch of stuff at the TK Maxx in Livingston but there is more left. Dst are going to have a good Christmas!

puff · 19/10/2005 11:48

Got loads of brill, reduced toys in TK MAXX - I had to go to a second store, as the first didn't have the pirate ship, so it's worth ringing to check.

I also got some fab Brio bits at two thirds of the original price.

Sorted all presents for ds1, some for ds2 and presents for my nieces.

Gobbledispook · 19/10/2005 11:50

Did you get stuff then PUff?
