we just bought a recaro young expert - it's v lovely.

Think the Maxi Cosi Priori usually comes out well in tests as well as the Britax Duo Isofix and their models with side impact protection but a good fit is more important.

Can I be nosey and ask why you are thinking about replacing it - can't be that old ? Dd is still in ds' old Britax Freeway Excel (which I've just noticed is only £49.99 in Toys r us atm) and that is 6 years old. We were waiting for her to hit the weight for the next category but not there yet !

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 14/10/2005 11:05

i love the britax freeway that jess has got.

btw I thrink NannyL has access to the recent Which? reports if you give her a shout - can't find the thread where she previously posted the whole list of good and bad.

TrickorTwiglett · 14/10/2005 12:59

because it seems to give her a big red mark on her back .. and she doesn't seem too comfy in it ... I think its just the way her spine is .. we have to pad it out with towels

I'm thinking of leaving it at my mums house for visits so that in future we can take the train

Have got a Maxi Cosi Priori XP and it has been fantastic so far

Cooperoo · 14/10/2005 13:50

I have the Maxi cosi priori xp too and think it is fab. Isofix seats are the safest I think, but I believe the XP is up there.

louli · 14/10/2005 14:14

The Mamas & Papas Pro-tec comes out quite well and is an easy seat to use.

NannyL · 15/10/2005 00:58

LOL, here i am!

June 2005 which report.... best is the Britax Duo plus ISOFIX one (when fitted with ISOFIX)
if no ISOFIX then mamas and papas pro tec...

this is very closely followed by the Maxi cosy Priori. (in a previouse Which report the Britax Renaissance got 1 point more then maxi cosy priori so i assume that is still pretty good!) (i hope so i've got it in my car, and i have to say it fits by far the tightest of every car seat ive ever used! (it is VERY heavy to swap between cars tho!)

(in Contrast DO NOT get:
BritaxCruiser plus
Mamas and papas Elan
Britax ranger
Concord Trimax
Britax Trio
Meggy Combi

(as these are in the seats to be avoided section, that they are campainging should not be on sale!)
