Piano keyboard for beginner?

Dd, who is nearly 7, has just started group piano lessons after school. She is very keen to practise (I expect this phase to last at least one more week!) so I'd like to get her a keyboard. Her teacher said it should have full-sized keys but didn't need the whole range of 76 keys, and I would prefer, due to space considerations, not to get a full-sized one for now.

Does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks.

Hello - been meaning to reply for ages and haven't had the chance!

DS has one of these Yamaha keyboards which is not available at the moment (on Amazon anyway), but this one looks similar. They have 61 full-size keys and you can make them sound like a piano as well as all the wacky stuff Grin

I got a stand as well but if you have a tabletop DD can use you won't need a stand.

Haven't had any problems with ours.

Hope this helps.

PS - I was similarly sceptical about DS's staying power when he started keyboard lessons at school when he was 8, but it's been 3 years now and he's still enjoying it - hope the same goes for your DD Smile
