Do you have a Nissan Micra?

I currently have a ford focus 1.6 auto and am putting on average £35 a week in petrol. The road tax is also expensive. I only usually drive round town/kids to school etc. I love the car though. We have found a nissan micra auto (old shape)for sale. This is in immaculate condition and we worked out would save us £1000 a year on petrol/tax/insurance. Problem is i'm worried it's going to be too small and I'm going to feel a bit silly in it! My dds are not in pushchairs so that's not a consideration. Scared i'm going to get rid of the focus and regret it but we are struggling with fuel. Does anyone drive an old style micra and how is it for you?

Not got a Micra, but a 10 yr old Ford Fiesta, with 2 DCs under 4. We manage ok - it is cheap to run but when it dies we plan to get some sort of saloon - tend to go out with a pushchair still.

Only time it is tricky is when we are going on holiday as we struggled to get travel cot, pushchair and all the stuff in. Bit easier now they are both in beds.

we are due to go away in april and i'm also worried about fitting stuff in. It comes with a top box though so hopefully there'll be enough room. Just keep thinking of the 1k a year we can save. I have to put a deposit on it tomorrow if I want it. So scared i'm doing the wrong thing! any micra drivers out there??

I have a micra, we drove from newcastle to cornwall with a weeks worth of camping gear and a tent. Everyone at the campsite said they were amazed by how much we fitted in.
