Stupid Question re MP3 Players

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 12/10/2005 11:07

Dh's birthday was last saturday, and his dad has just sent him an MP3 player in the post.

The thing is im totally clueless (you would have thought being only 23 i would know about these things!)

What the hell is it and what does it do and how do you make it work?!

You need to:

a) connect it to the computer. Did it come with a CD of software for it?

b) make copies of your music CDs

c) copy the music onto the MP3 player

yeah got a tiny looking cd - not the same size as a normal cd. got a usb cable too.

Tiny CDs play in the normal players. I'd pop the tiny CD in, and follow instructions. Hopefully it contains some software for ripping CDs, that makes it all easier.

The USB thing is good - it means the MP3 player can charge its batteries via the computer, which is less hassle than using non-rechargable batteries.

(I got an iPod nano on the weekend, enjoying it greatly.)

An iPod is an MP3 player made by apple. Not anything that different.

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 12/10/2005 11:14

what make is it JABM?

NotQuiteCockney · 12/10/2005 11:16

Why? It's not your thing.

I think it's embarassing to be gadget-mad, I'm slightly embarassed of my iPod, pretty though it is, as they're trendy as hell and thoroughly unnecessary. (But DH was feeling guilty re: long hours, and it was my birthday, so ...)

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 12/10/2005 11:19

its just something that neither me nor dh would have considered buying.... we prefer dvd's and the internet!

will have to look into getting it all set up - may even get big bro to come over and do it if we get stuck!
