Are any of those handbag highchair things any good? We are off for a couple of weeks and mostly visiting family/friends without kids
Any recommendations please?

We have one that is something like this and it's been great.

A friend of mine who is particularly non-practical said it was too complicated for her to bother using but we've had no problem with it at all and are now using it on baby 2.

Not a fabric one like you mentioned but thought worth suggesting it anyway just in case you are looking at all the portable varieties

We had something similar to /link{http://www.mothercare.com/invt/lz3331&bklist=icat,5,shop,shofeeding,feehighchairs,higboosters/this} - it was really good and would recommend. Folds up to the size of a handbag, very light, but only good from about 10 monts, ie not much use when they're still a bit wobbly as the sides are not rigid, though the strap does go quite tight.
Wouldn't have been without this, in fact ds2 is nearly 3 and still uses it to reach our rather high table.

I have the fabric one- from blooming marvellous and it's excellent. I always carry it with me now just in case.

you can get them from php too and ebay...they are all much of a muchness as far as i can see....

one of the best things i've bought IMO.

Thanks, I was thinking of one of the fabric ones as we are flying and luggage will be an issue (as always!)
Do they work on all chairs?

I had a fabric one (from sammac), and it proved invaluable. Was in my bag all the time for going to friend's houses who no longer have babies, and for holidays etc. Fits a lot of chairs, but not all. Not good on the wider farmhouse style ones, or very high backed ones but on the regular size chairs with straight backs, just great. Would recommend though.

haven't been in a situation where mine hasn't fit yet!!

It's the blooming marvellous animal print one!
