here is inside of V70

here is the XC70

I love XC70

The V70 for me is a bit boring as it is like my old cars 940 and 850 {if I hadn't had 940 and 850 beforehand would go for V70 rahter than V50}

but the XC70 is different and has new little touches apart from the toys

Geartronic gears

grab rail in centre {useful for my dad to help him in} also to fasten handbag when driving alone

Would deffo choose XC70 again

V50 is way toooooooooo small and cramped for us

RTKM - Thanks, just downloaded the tech specs of the two and the interior (space) dimensions of the V70 and XC70 are identical. (Even headroom !)

The XC70 has a couple of inches in width / height / length / ground to boot floor...

So.... they're not that different.

I once ran a 244DL. Lovely overdrive gearbox, LOL.

RTKMonherBROOMSTICK · 11/10/2005 12:31

The V50 is the small one

hub2dee · 11/10/2005 12:31

The V50 appears to lose around 8 - 9cm in load luggage length (in both 2 and 5 seat positions), and is quite a bit slimmer / shorter etc.

hmm....

hub2dee · 11/10/2005 12:33

Yeah, I know the V50 is the small one, I was wondering if there was any difference on the interior space in yours vs. a V70 IYSWIM... but there isn't. (Maybe it feels bigger being that extra couple of inches higher)...

RTKMonherBROOMSTICK · 11/10/2005 12:35

I have only driven the V50 as a curtesy car during servicing of mine

And it felt clustrophioc

Are you thinking of volvo for your new family???

I don't really see the point of V50 tbh

RTKMonherBROOMSTICK · 11/10/2005 12:36

the V70 is too simular to my old cars and I wanted a new interior iyswim

However could I have guessed this thread would have you two on it?

RTKMonherBROOMSTICK · 11/10/2005 12:50

You know me tooo well WWB

Yeah. We've got a 2 door Saab, which we love, and have coped getting the car seat into the back but it is a grand faff, and not ideal tbh.

Must admit, haven't seen anything that gets me very excited IYSWIM... everything is so samey. Boring.

Was looking at an old BMW 3 series, the e30 range, from the 80s as I felt it had a certain something, but they don't have airbags, which I'd like.

I find most cars, especially new cars, rather dull. Maybe I need to resign myself to 'normality' LOL

hub2dee · 11/10/2005 12:53

Hiya toadie.

Just having a natter. Not that we're obsessives or anything.

WigWamBam · 11/10/2005 13:11

Nooooo, not obsessives at all ...

RTKMonherBROOMSTICK · 11/10/2005 13:13

You could keep saab for non-daddy time and get new one for daddy time

Did you go off C8 ???

Have you looked at the merc here it is

Just been looking at the Merc monster, RTKM... did you mean the Vaneo ? it looks ginormous, but kind of cool. I like the seat flexibility: looks like fun on long trips.

hub2dee · 11/10/2005 14:51

I meant the Viano BTW

RTKMonherBROOMSTICK · 11/10/2005 18:21

I drove a MERC campervan in NZ with geartronic gears

I love the way the seats move round

Wouldn't buy one personnaly but if I was going to get one would think about this

or grand voyager - had one of these in canada

OP posts:
RTKMonherBROOMSTICK · 11/10/2005 18:34

Why did you go off the C8 ????

OP posts:
hub2dee · 12/10/2005 19:51

Sorry, RTKM, out all day, just back in.

Looked at the web site with dw yesterday .... oooh, she loved that swivel seat concept...

I think she saw it full of beaming children and grandparents on fun days out etc. etc. LOL !

We then saw one in town yesterday evening.

LARGE !!!!!!!!! It's pretty big, RTKM ! But intriguing nonetheless... hmmm....

Ref: C8 - we sat in one. Quite flash, and interesting. A possible. Maybe a little uninspirational ? The sliding electric doors were the business though... but the mech did mean you still need a good 8 inches to the side to exit (door slides over exterior IYSWIM).
