digital video editing???

Does anyone have any good recommendations for software or websites with tips for this.
When dd, now 2 was born I bought a dig vid camera which is great fun but I have found editing footage such a task. Our pc which as dh loves pc's is a really good spec but editing drives me mad as the software seems to crash quite a bit.

Any ideas are more than welcome.

Apple Macs come free with iMovie and iDVD - two simple applications to let you make little films.

Easy peasy.

DH uses one called Ulead - find it at ulead.com - he's says it's pretty basic and straightforward.

We don't edit too often thought - we made a video for DS' first year and now one for DD's 1st year.
