Bugaboo Buggy Board

I have a Bugaboo and am thinking of getting a bugaboo buggy board as my DS will be 16 mnths when my 2nd is born. Has anyone got one. It looks really big - does it get in the way of walking? Are there any others that fit a bugaboo?

I have one- it does get in the way a little bit- but then you walk quite slowly anyway with a little one on a board. My ds was 18 months old when ds2 was born...he's not walking yet (20months now) and I think the board will not get a great deal of use before he's two....you might need a double as well...unless you like slinging (carrying in a sling) one or other of them- which is what i do a fair bit.

could you not attach a lascal board they attach to the axel of the buggy i believe and have two wheels so you colud prehaps walk in between them?

DS is showing signs of wanting to walk now so I think he might be walking by the time Bump is born. I was trying to resist buying a double considering my Bugaboo cost so much the first time round. I also onlyy have a little Clio so I am not sure it would fit in the boot. I have used a sling before so I might try that plus I have a baby carrier back pack - whcih I suppose I could use. Don't you feel like a pack horse though?
the Lascal Board looks good but have you tried it on a Bugaboo? - as the Bugaboo is designed so nothing else fits it!!

well the lascal one says it fits to the rear axel - and looking at the bugaboo one that also fits the rear axel - maybe worth taking to john lewis to try?

LIZS · 09/10/2005 11:50

The Bugaboo one is longer though so suspect that a regular one might tuck too far under the seat for the sibling to have room to balance well.

leahbump · 09/10/2005 12:19

bugaboo baord os longer than lascal board...and I'm not sure lascal one will be long enough.

I do feel like a pack horse sometimes but as my older one loves being carried in my MEI TAI carrier it's no problem really..and the only way I can get out to the market etc cos he just whines in the pushchair!

Thanks for the advice - Leah - how are you coping with two at such a young age. It is my big worry. Getting one out is hard at the best of times let alone two.

spoo - it;s hard but very rewarding!

I would recomend getting an easy fold down baby carrier. mine fits in a small canvas bag...or under the bugaboo- am selling my back pack carrier as i can't really carry it around 'in case' ds wnats it!

My mei tai also can be used on either child...so ds sits in the pram (carry cot) sometimes when ds 2 needs to be carried...will work better when ds two is old enough for me to switch the bugaboo to the seat unit...as ds 1 is a little heavy to push around sat up in the pram!!

If you want to knwo more about carriers like mei tai you could look at thebabywearer.com

I can't use the bugaboo buggy board - it always hits my ankles. dd2 just has to walk. (she is 2.8 though).

Spoo · 11/10/2005 19:37

I have a baby carrier so I possibly will be using that. I have a back pack too but DH uses that most of the time. My mum is talking about me getting a double buggy but I am not too sure. Do you think I will need one?

I would wait until bump lands- most internet companies will post next day delivery if you decide you need a double. I would however do your research on doubles just in case.

I would think that your ds although walking, will still get tired and want to sit down. Unfortunately the seat2go doesn't fit the bugaboo! But wait and see....no need to have a double sat in your house just yet....the only thing about the bugaboo is that you can't have seat and carrycot easily accessible...you could do what i do and sit your ds in the carrycot whilst slinging the baby..or you could leave the seat unit on for ds and plan on slinging the baby for a few months.

THank Leah - will definately look into it all so I am prepared.
Thanks for all your help.
