Car sear for very small toddler - when to switch?

We have a group 0 Britax car seat which is for a child up to 9kg. Our DD is nearly 16 months and not yet 8kg, but nearly average height.

As we do not have a car, we've used the group 0 seat maybe 3 times and thinking of passing it on to a friend who is about to give birth, but I hesitate if DD is too small to go into a group 1+ seat?

Any advice? At her centile rate she'll be 2yrs old before she reaches 9kg!

the minimum weight for the next seat is 9kgs so your lo isnt heavy enough for one yet. you could get another rear facing seat that is bigger and will last till the age of 4.
