Hello, my daughter has downs and we have been awarded full mob to help towards a new car, we have 2 other children so would like a people carrier, thing is once all the seats are taken there isn't a lot of room for equipment we need to take, is there any recommendations out there or anybody with experience of the scheme that can offer advice? thanks in advance.

work out how much money you can spare to use on the deposit. then look at the cars you can get with that. the mobility web siteis very useful as you can search using lots of different criteria. The trick with getting a car for a child is trying to work out how their need and yours will change as a family.

You can get roof bars or a tow hook put on a car. It is best to get thule bars as you can then just get different feet for the next car if needed. (you do need to pay for a tow hook)
Remember that you have the car for three years.

The web site does not have all the deal if you have a specific car in mind you can ring and ask how much the deposit is.

You can also use the benefit to get a car on a low interest loan you pay the money back out of the benefit over five years put then also need to pay the upkeep on the car as it would be yours you may still get free road fund (you would need to )

Have fun choosing
