I'm expecting my 2nd when 1st will be 2.5 yrs, need advice on good bugy for toddler and newby or if to go single with buggy board as not sure how long I will need double for? love the look of i-candy but too expensive! Any advice welcome! Smile

Out'n'About Nipper is great for 2, we have a baby and (now) 3-year-old and still use it for when we need to get somewhere fast or when his legs get tired. It also has masses of storage space (especially if you get the extra basket to go underneath too), if you just have a single it is harder to carry everything you need for 2. It is surprisingly light and easy to push for its size, and it is wheelchair width so fits through most shop doors etc.

We also have a buggyboard for using with our old single buggy, but TBH I find that is a lot harder to push than the double buggy so I usually only use it for short distances (10-15 minutes' walk or less) or if I will only have DS with me for part of the time - e.g. if I am dropping him off at nursery and then going on with just the baby, as then you can fold up the buggyboard and just go on with the single instead of having to fit the double through doors etc.

i would def reccommend the phil and teds,
we still use ours for holidays or long days out, ds is 2 and dd is 4.
i plan to keep ours for holidays for a while yet,so handy having the second seat there just incase, without having a huge double with an empty seat!

I have test driven an icandy, found it v.v.heavy and hard to push and others seem to agree although some people love it. I think it's better for twins than baby + toddler, I've seen so many on the school run stuffed in there with no room (toddlers I mean!).
I have twins & also had 21 month gap between them and ds2. I have a mountain buggy but only because I really wanted a carrycot for the twins and because it would fit through the front door, nipper wouldn't. Nipper imo a fantastic choice.

I've also got a baby jogger city mini for the car and it's fab, great price, well built, so easy to fold and lightweight plus fab sun canopies. Don't find that my toddler had much room past 2 though with his coat on and my twins seem a bit squashed now at 2.4. I think with a 2 year gap, you will find a double a godsend. I found with the buggy board that my just 2yo couldn't see past the buggy but fine by 3. The sit on ones may be better. But it totally depends on what you have to do in a day, how much your toddler walks, whether you want to use your car much etc.

I don't know personally but have heard lots of good things about the britax b-dual.

MadMissy · 11/01/2011 14:26

Mountain Buggy will be releasing 2 new doubles soon, the +one which is a tandem like P&T but baby not underneath the other and the duet which is a narrow lightweight side by side!

check out the FB page for a nosy! good luck!

Did no one find the Nipper to reclined? My girls were always pulling themselves up? lovely and lightweight though!

Piffpaffpoff · 12/01/2011 08:59

I had a double nipper with a 2 yo and a baby and it was fab, lovely and easy to push (easier in fact than the single nipper I originally had!).And as other have said, it has loads of storage space.

MadMissy · 12/01/2011 09:08

Maybe mine was older then as the seats were like buckets and DD1 hated it so I sold and got a P&T
