DD wants one of these for christmas. normally i'd say it was too much money, but i can get one on discount off DP's work. is it good? are the games ok to play for a 4 year old? are there good alternatives?

DS (3.6) has one of these. He has the winnie the pooh game and Lion King game. I really like it and he plays it quite frequently.
There are lots of different games to play. I think the winnie the pooh one has 12 games in total.

DD got one for Christmas and she plays with it a lot. She onlyhas a couple of games but that is enough at the moment. For this Christmas we are planning on getting the art centre for it and the new Dora game.

Apparantly a lot of the VSmile stuff is on 3 for 2 at Boots at the moment.

My friend's little boy has this and he (3.5) and DD (nearly 4) find it boring now. They liked it when they were a bit younger but the novelty wore off when they realised an adult had to connect it up to the telly first etc.

But... they both lurve the Leapster which I would highly highly recommend for a 4 year old. Aforementioned little boy won't stop playing with and it has an excellent Pause button for when it's dinner time. This is what DD is getting for her birthday. She has asked for a pink one and a Spongebob game to go with it.

If you wait until ELC bring out their 20% off code to kick start the Christmas shopping (keep an eye on Hot Deals ) you'll be able to pick it up for £52 or else Amazon & Woolworths (in store) have it for £58. Games can be found on eBay for approx £12.

I know it may seem expensive but it's supposed to last from 4-8 years and the reviews I've found have all been excellent.
