Good quality furniture for toddler's bedroom?

Hi!
Does anyone have any tips for some good quality furniture for a toddlers bedroom. We wanted white solid wood but all we can find (in our price range) is laquered pine. Any ideas or recommendations? We really don't want flat pack as this furniture will have to last until DD is a teenager at least. Any help much appreciated.
Cheers!

john lewis have some nice ranges on their website

tis impossible to find a cheapy white painted wood bed anywhere

I bought some cheap pine shelves (unfinished) from a shop near me, sanded them and painted them off white they look great.

Thanks Enid
That's where we got DD's nursery furniture from and were hoping to get some more from there but when we went in to the store to have a look at the white furniture it was really quite flimsy. Am thinking that I'm going to have to try to find some untreated stuff and paint it, too.

Thanks meggymoo!
Wasn't really thinking of looking on Ebay as really would like to see the furniture before I buy it. Will have a look for a lincoln pine near me, though I've not heard of them before. Suppose it will be worth a bit a of a journey to have a look though.

We got DD some white furniture from MFI. It's the Albany range. We were initially sceptical about the sturdyness when we spotted that in store it's screwed to the wall, but it's actually really great. I've not had any problems so far. In fact got the cherry range for DS room as we were so pleased.

chicaguapa - thanks for the MFI tip. Had seen it on their website and not got around to having a look in store yet. We had an MFI bedroom fitted in our room last year and had all sorts of supply problems though so will have to put those thoughts behind us and go and have a look.

nope

We had no problems. It all arrived when it said it would. And I managed to put it all together by myself (with a bit a muscle power from DH!).

Hiya, we got dd this wardrobe from Argos which is great, nice & sturdy. They do matching drawers & bedside table too.
