a new bed for ds - bunks?

ds is 3.8 & we are re-doing his bedroom. currently he sleeps in the double bed in the spare room as apparently his room has monsters in. as we have a 3 month old dd i can't face the arguments & he sleeps really well in there. but we're giving the bed to some friends tomorrow.....

so we've been looking for something for him to sleep on. probably bunks or a high sleeper. some storage would be good too. any suggestions?

I really don't like bunks and have recently converted my boys' bunks back into sinlges and am much happier (even though it cuts into floor space)

Bunks are hard work. I didn't feel I could tuck them in properly, kiss them good night properly and they are really, really hard to make.

I feel the same way about cabin beds and am currently negotiating with dd to try to get rid of hers.

I think they're meant to be 6 for bunk beds, or do you mean a sort of mid-sleeper. Ikea have lots of examples I think.

leave him in spare room..less hassle....what about a cabin sort of bed? no under the bed for monsters to hide and plenty of storage too !!

i agree with you spidermama. dp says he really wanted a high bed with a desk underneath when he was 12..... i think a cabin bed would be a good compromise.
