Hi,

We need to buy a cotbed, but have no idea which type of Mattress to get..foam, spring...!??! Does it really make a difference.

Also how much would you spend, seem you can end up spending 200 quid on a babies mattress..is it just me or is that crazy money..

Thanks,

We had a cotbed for dd and ds (same one and same mattress!), it came with it from Mothercare.

Anyway to answer your question we had a foam one, it had a plastic type coating (a god send when they are puking!) on one side and normal mattressy type material on the other for when the child is older.

I bought a sprung one, it wasn't hugely expensive - got it from kiddicare.com. I don't like foam ones myself so I got a sprung one because that's what I would prefer on my own bed - a very arbitrary reason! Don't have a clue what's "best".

I got a cot bed size fitted waterproof sheet in Tesco for a fiver. Seems to do the job.
