Anyone know of a wipe clean baby nest?

You know those blow up rings that are good for babies to sit in before they can sit up? My friend was thinking of using one for weaning cos her DD can't quite sit up well enough for a highchair yet.

What about a bumbo or similar? That said if the baby can't even sit up in a highchair, is it old enough to be weaned??

Bumbo's aren't very good for spinal development and posture. Yes she's 7 months. My DS didn't sit up until 10 months and we had the same problem. I used to feed him sat on my lap but it wasn't ideal.

Oh okay. DS didn't sit up until 9 months either - is it a massive highchair? DS was alright in smaller chairs like the Antilop or we had (still have) a Fisher Price booster seat (the healthy care one) which comes with a tray. Because they were smaller they seemed to support him more than the huge padded things.

Surely a bumbo would be alright for short periods like mealtimes? Anything "propped up" is going to be more reclined which isn't great as at 7 months the baby is going to want finger foods or at least lumps, really.

She's got the red plastic Ikea one, not sure what it's called.

What do you mean by propped up? Like those big high chairs that are from 4 months? She doesn't want one of those.

She wants something like this but with a wipeable cover.

Oh I see. Yes I think the red ikea one is the Antilop.

They have that playnest at our children's centre and when the cover is taken off to wash the ring is left for parents to use as it's just plastic underneath like a paddling pool. So could use one without the cover - or maybe buy two or three secondhand and keep washing the covers?

I used to feed ds while he was sitting in one of those baby walker things (when at my mums as she didnt have a highchair)

ikea sell a cushion to use in the highchair to help support while feeding:
