You know, the ones you need to make cheesecakes etc ... mine have gone rusty, just sitting on the shelf. They were just normal ones from John Lewis. (Might have gone through the dishwasher.)

Do they normally do this? How do I prevent this? Are there better ones to buy?

Scrub them with wire wool to get all of the rust off then oil them up with veg oil to stop it happening again- downside being that if you don't use them very often the oil may go rancid & pong! Alternatively buy non stick ones. Don't know where I got mine from but they are so much better & easier to clean
